About the Project
The Traveller: My name is Annalisa Mauro, I am a curious woman with a long experience in international development and always committed to a better world. I am back in the land where I was born, to tell my story with authentic, gentle and necessary words.

The purpose: This project aims to write the story of modern Calabria as depicted by its impressive natural and human landscapes. This will be the tale of a one-month journey to visit the deep south of Italy, and mainly but not exclusively the province of Reggio Calabria (Calabria Ulteriore) while traveling in a green or vintage car with an online connection to make daily posts of photos, places, and faces, possible. There is no commercial purpose for my trip and my time and all the efforts I have put into this are coming from my personal dedication to this project.

The destination: Calabria is a land of impressive beauty nestled in between the Tirrenian and the Ionian seas in the very heart of the Mediterrean. Calabria is made up of rugged land characterised by high and rough mountains which run from Pollino through Sila and Aspromonte. Most of Calabria’s perimeter is made of both dramatic coasts with wonderful sandy beaches facing the sunrise, and rocky cliffs looking towards the sunset.
